I will be hosting a fabulous evening workshop of punch needle basics taught by the fabulous teacher Sahm from Kussen and Kiss in my Steveston based studio!

Punch needle is a traditional rug hooking technique creating beautifully textured yarn-art that can be turned into wall hangings, rugs, pillows, bags and more. This is a super satisfying fibre art that is quick and easy to learn so it’s great for beginners!
In this workshop you’ll learn all the basics and have the opportunity to create and take home a small, finished wall hanging! We’ll explore texture options, different types of punch tools, fabrics and fibres, and troubleshoot common problems.
What you get from the workshop (besides a great time!): - Use of The Oxford Punch Needle - Monks cloth (backing fabric) for your project - Use of a no-slip working hoop - A bamboo finishing hoop - A technique and troubleshooting guide.
There will be an opportunity to purchase tools and materials for future projects at the workshop.
